Lasvit created a bespoke lighting installation for the lobby of Sky, a luxurious 71-story tower with public spaces, amenities and residences. Developed by The Moinian Group in New York City, the building is located at the nexus of two dynamic neighborhoods, Hell’s Kitchen and Hudson Yards.
The Gravity installation created by Lasvit in-house designer Ludmila Zilkova together with Rockwell Group takes its name from the major design inspiration. Weighing approximately 700 kg and with a height of 2,5 metre, the structure is composed of hundreds of glass ‘cells,’ sorted and linked to create one entire structure whose shape appears weighted by gravity. Each one is unique, hand-blown, which seem to be identical but reveal unique traits.
