At the inaugural edition of Downtown Design Riyadh, Lasvit presents Made of Sand — a curated exhibition of design lighting inspired by the raw beauty of the Saudi landscape. This presentation explores glassmaking not only as a craft, but as a medium of transformation — shifting between movement and stillness, reflection and light. Visit us at JAX District, May 20–23, at Downtown Dubai Riyadh, the leading fair for contemporary and quality design in the Middle East.
A sculptural lighting installation by Martin Gallo captures the image of water frozen in motion. It expresses the energy of a single drop — and how it can ripple into something vast.
Completing the central installation is a limited series of Magmatic vases by Lasvit’s Creative Director, Maxim Velčovský. The series references the origin of glass itself: when fire, heat and sand converge.
This mirrored glass object by Jana Růžičková is inspired by the desert as a constantly shifting landscape, the piece invites quiet reflection on time, erosion, and the precision of glassmaking.
Lasvit is the brand of choice for clients seeking originality, precision, and lasting value in every detail. We are proud to contribute to some of the most distinctive design lighting projects across the Middle East and around the world — from private residences to world-class hospitality spaces. In Saudi Arabia, our work includes Al Faisaliah Mandarin Oriental or Al Azizia Mosque in Mecca. Later this year, we will unveil our most monumental installation to date — a landmark project for The Avenues – Riyadh, and the largest in Lasvit’s history.
