Singapore is a city-state located on 63 islands with 5.3 million citizens, so space is the foremost luxury of all. The district of Katong was home to many villas and mansions of the wealthy elite since 19th century, creating its own small paradise along the beachfront. Even in today’s modern and busy Singapore, the area retains its tranquility and provides a rich cultural blend as well as an eclectic mix of architectural styles.
With grandeur as a part of the design specification, Táňa Dvořáková combined classic crystal chandelier themes with contemporary elements. The periphery of the structural rings is decorated with hand-blown petals, adding a refined style with traces of local flavor. Unlike traditional chandeliers, where metal rings are often exposed, in this case they are studded with crystal prisms, providing an airy feel to the otherwise dominant and majestic piece.
